PLATFORM

Dave is a Reagan Republican who believes we can do better for our kids. His core beliefs include: 
• No new taxes: Americans lose from 16 to 29% of their wages to taxes. That should be enough.
• Limited Government: As Will Rogers famously said, “Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for!”
• Local Control of Our Schools: If we wanted our kids educated like they do in California, we’d move there. Folks come to Morgan County because they want a tried and true education for their kids.
• A Book for Every Student in Every Class: If we have enough money to build a new stadium, we should have enough money to buy books for her kid.
 
 

Dave wants to make Morgan County schools better. His three-step approach is C-D-C. 

Communication:  
• “Our schools should be as transparent as possible. Parents should be told the good and the bad about our schools.”
• “The High School should appoint a Parent-Teacher Coordinator similar to the one we have at the Middle School.”
 

Discipline:  
• “If we don’t have discipline, nothing else follows.”
• “We need a return to the strict, no-nonsense approach we grew up with.”
 

Curriculum:
• “Every kid is important. We need strong advanced placement, college prep, AND vocational programs.”
• “Our schools must be accountable to the parents. We must change with the changing world, but we must do so slowly and carefully. Parent’s need to understand that change."     

Thank you for letting me share my thoughts. I hope by spending some time together, we can find some common ground in which to build a better future for our children.
